English and Associates Files Suit Against Taylor County Jail
Monday, April 11 Update:
KTAB News confirmed today that a lawsuit was filed against the Taylor County Sheriff and against named guards and the nurse on duty at the Taylor County Detention Center.
According to the suit, a former inmate who now lives out of state says he had a broken back while in the jail and was refused medical treatment. Phillip Devon Dean said he was also slammed into a wheelchair by guards.
This afternoon the sheriff's department said it had not been informed of the filing and therefore could not comment on the suit just yet.
Friday, April 8:
A Dallas law firm says it will file a federal law suit against the Taylor County Sheriff on behalf of former Taylor County Jail inmate, Phillip Devon Dean.
Dean claiming personal injury caused by negligence. English and Associates law firm says Dean had a spinal injury that went untreated.
The firm said it planned to file the suit today, but because of the time of day, confirmation on that was not available as of this writing.
